WORDS OF ANGER
Anger, also known as wrath or rage, is an intense emotional state that presents a non-cooperative response to a perceived provocation, hurt or threat. You experience physical effects, such as increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, and increased levels of adrenaline and noradrenaline. The experience might even trigger the fight or flight response. You are forced to make a conscious choice to take action to immediately stop the threatening behavior of another outside force or to flee.
Anger can have many physical and mental consequences. Anger presents visual signs in your facial expressions, body language, physiological responses, and at times public acts of aggression.
Modern psychologists view anger as a normal, natural, and mature emotion experienced by everyone. It functions as an evolutionary response for survival. Uncontrolled anger can, however, negatively affect personal or social well-being and impact negatively on those around you. Learning to control it can minimize the effects and protect you and those around you.
