VIEW INSULTS ~ VIEW CURSES
The creativity from the distant past is truly amazing. They coined some wild and crazy words to describe someone in a derogatory manner. We don’t see that that kind of creativity in modern times - we see more vulgarity and profanity. These may be obsolete words but they still exist- let’s bring them back! Now, let’s take a look at some humdingers.

INSULTS FROM
A Long, Long Time Ago
TURN BACK TIME....
ARFARFAN’ARF - A lazy drunk.
ABYDOCOMIST - someone so full of themselves they can’t stop bragging about themselves
BAWHEED - If you’re a bawheed, your head is full of rubbish. Or to put it more accurately, full of bollocks.
BEARDSPLITTER - A Victorian word for “penis.”
BEDSWERVER - A British slang word for “cheater,” invented by William Shakespeare.
BEEF-WITTED - The 1590’s word refers to something stupid.
BEJABBERS - An Irish word adapted by Americans as a substitute for “by Jesus!”
BESCUMBER - A word from the early 20th century meaning “to spray poo upon.”
BLATHERSKITE - a person who talks foolishly at length
BLUNDERBUSS - a dumb, blundering fellow.
BRABBLE - someone who argues loudly about matters of no importance is brabbling.
CACAFUEGO - A Spanish word meaning “braggart,” but translates to “shitfire.”
CHAWBACON - a country bumpkin; hick
CHUCKLE HEAD - Much the same as “buffle head,” “cabbage head,” “chowder head,” “cod’s head” — all signifying stupidity and weakness of intellect; a fool.
COCKALORUM – coming straight out of the 1710s, this word refers to a little man who has a high opinion, as in that guy has short-man syndrome, he’s a total cockalorum.
CONSARN - A substitute for "goddamn."
CREPEHANGER - a killjoy; someone who takes a pessimistic view of things
CUPBOARD-LOVER - a fake. Apparently, the saying comes from a person being nice to you with the sole intent of gaining access to the food in your pantry.
CUMBERWORLD - a totally useless person and a cumbersome interruption in the world
CUTPURSE - a pickpocket
DAD-SIZZLE - Another "goddamn" term. "Well, dad-sizzle it!" was one way to show you meant business.
DIRTY PUZZLE - Promiscuous women who get around.
DORBEL - A person who annoyingly points out every little tiny mistake Note that dorbels are often also fopdoodles.
FAINEANT - an idle or ineffective person
FOOZLE - a conservative, out-of-date person, especially an old man." But it can also be used to describe screwing up.
FOPDOODLE - A dumb person constantly making poor choices.
FRIBBLE - a trifler, idler, good-for-nothing fellow; silly and superficial.
FUDGEL - someone who gives the impression they are working, when they are doing nothing.
FURFURACEOUS - From the Latin furfur (bran, chaff), this means flaky or dandruff-covered.
FUSTILARIAN - A guy who talks and talks and continually wastes your time. invented by Shakespeare
GADZOOKS! - A variant of “God’s hooks,” this old curse dates back to the 17th century
GENTLEMAN OF FOUR OUTS - When a vulgar, blustering fellow asserts that he is a gentleman, the retort generally is, “Yes, a gentleman of four outs,” that is, without wit, without money, without credit, and without manners.
GNASHGAB - someone who is constantly finding fault and loves to complain.
GO-ALONGER - A simple, easy person, who suffers himself to be made a fool of, and is readily persuaded to any act by others who inwardly laugh at his folly.
GOBERMOUCH - an ancient Irish term for a busybody.
GOLLUMPUS - a large and clumsy fellow.
GONG-FARMER - A toiler cleaner.
GREAT HORN SPOON - Something you can swear by and used like "by God!" May come from seafaring slang.
GRUMBLETONIAN - a person who grumbles and complains incessantly- especially about politics
HARRIDAN - a shrew or an ill-tempered, scolding woman
HAYMARKET HECTOR - A pimp.
JOBBY - a pile of shit. It’s actually closer to saying poo than it is to saying shit.
KLAZOMANIAC - someone who ONLY SPEAKS BY SHOUTING.
LANSPRESADO - a cheap person who arrives without their wallet with some complicated story to explain why they don’t have money with them.
LICKFINGER - Someone who sucks up to someone for positive attention.
LOBLOLLY - a stupid, rude or awkward person
LUBBERWORT - a hazy, lethargic kind of person.
MILKSOP - an unmanly man; a mollycoddle (a pampered or effeminate boy or man)
MOLLYCODDLE - an effeminate man, one who malingers amongst the women.
MUCKSPOUT - One who swears too much.
MUMBLECRUST - A medieval word referring to a toothless beggar from a medieval theater comedy.
MUMPSIMUS - a stubborn person who insists on making an error in spite of being shown that it is wrong
MUNTZ-WATCHER - A sneaky criminal or con-artist. A snake oil salesman.
NIGMENOG - a silly and ridiculous person
NINNYHAMMER - A fool or a silly person. The English language is chockful of colorful words meaning stupid person, such as: DUMMKOPF, IGNORAMUS, JOBBERNOWL, GOWK, and WITLING.
NITHING - a contemptible or despicable person
NUMPTY - someone who’s seen as stupid.
PEDICULOUS - From the Latin pediculus (louse), it means lice-infested.
PETTIFOGGER - shyster; a lawyer whose methods are underhanded or disreputable
PILLOCK - a very stupid or foolish person
PISMIRE – literally, a word that’s derived from small insect and piss.
POLTROON - a spiritless coward
PRICKMEDAINTY - a egotist, vain about their appearance and seen as a fool for doing so
PUTTOCK - greedy. Greed was greeted with more revulsion in Elizabethan times than it is now.
QUIDNUNC - is an “inquisitive, bossy person” who’s constantly sniffing around for the next juicy morsel of gossip.
QUOCKERWODGER – from the 1850s, refers to someone who is like a wooden puppet that was controlled by strings.
RAGGABRASH - someone totally disorganized and/or unkempt
RAKEFIRE - A person who overstays their welcome. The term comes from a person who stays late to keep the fire going, even though their host wants them to leave.
RANTALLION - A Victorian word meaning “one whose scrotum is longer than his penis.”
RAWGABBIT - a person who likes to gossip confidentially about matters that they know nothing about.
SCAPEGRACE - mischievous person; a rascal
SCARAMOUCH - was used from the 1600s through the 1800s to describe any boastful coward.
SCOBBERLOTCHER - A lazy piece of crap who never works hard.
SCIOLIST - person who pretends to be intelligent or knowledgeable
SCUNNER - a loathsome, horrible person. Being seen as one is a bad insult.
SKINFLINT - A miser; a covetous wretch, one who, if possible would take the skin off a flint.
SLUBBERDEGLLION - a dirty rascal; scoundrel; wretch
SLUGABED - a lazy person who stays in bed all day
SMELLFUNGUS - A buzzkill
SNAGGLETOOTH - A low-class woman who broken teeth
SNOLLYGOSTER - a person who has intelligence but no principles; a dangerous combination.
SPOONY - Foolish, half-witted, nonsensical; it is usual to call a very prating shallow fellow, a “rank spoon.”
ULTRACREPIDARIAN - this person takes every opportunity to share their opinion about things they know nothing about.
UNLICKED CUB - A loutish youth who has never been taught manners; from the tradition that a bear’s cub, when brought into the world, has no shape or symmetry until its mother licks it into form with her tongue; ill-trained, uncouth, and rude.
VARLET - an unprincipled rogue
WHIFFLE-WHAFFLE - someone who wastes time.
WRINKLER - a big fat liar
ZAFTY - someone you’d refer to as a doormat or pushover.
ZOOTERKINS - A 17th century variant of “zounds!”, which was an expression of surprise or indignation.
ZOUNDERKITE - A complete idiot who constantly makes clumsy and awkward mistakes.
